Head of House Selvatilla

Name Karma Selvatilla
Gender Female
Age 24
Height 5'2" (157cm)
Aspect Radiance
Affiliation Nox Noctis, House Selvatilla

Karma is one of the major antagonists of Bolt from the Blue. She is the Head of House Selvatilla, the Pyrusian noble house that governs North Pyrus. Her interests and morals are entirely centered around fighting, and it is difficult to get her to care about anything other than engaging in battles.

Profile

Appearance

Karma is a somewhat short woman with toned form. She has very short and messy red hair with yellow streaks, and her eyes are a pale yellow. Marked under each of her eyes is a golden notch, the symbol of a Pyrusian noble Head.

She's most often seen in official House Selvatilla garb—a short dark cloak with red and gold accents that resemble scales. Additionally, she wears light, spiked armor around her wrists and shins. A metal chain with a glowing point at the end hangs from the back of her belt, which floats around when charged with magic. Around her neck, she carries House Selvatilla's family talisman.

Personality

Karma is generally carefree, unbothered by responsibilities from being the Head of House Selvatilla. She's deeply interested in hand-to-hand combat, and is willing to compromise anything—even Nox Noctis missions—if it means she'll get a good fight in. She's also interested in witnessing unique and powerful abilities, which she hopes to see in her fights.

Abilities

Karma has a radiance aspect and the highest AGI of all characters in Bolt from the Blue. She is often able to act more than once in a single turn.

Magic Contracts

Thanks to a pact with Enki, members of House Selvatilla's noble blood have the ability to form magically-binding contracts with other people. Karma uses this ability to form "battle contracts" with her opponents—before every fight, she carefully establishes a list of detailed rules, such as win and lose conditions, handicaps on both sides, and rewards/deals upon battle conclusion.

Because it is magically binding, breaking an established rule results in the offender becoming weaker. Generally, only Karma can break her own contract, but she refuses to do this. The only other way to break a battle contract is to break off the glowing tip of her chain.

Relationships

Ilia Miron

Karma is often accompanied by Ilia on missions. Ilia tries to keep her on task, but Karma is allowed a surprising amount of liberty to act as she pleases.
