Plugging In!

My little blogging corner where I talk about my life and interests...freely!

What do you mean it's MARCH already?!

AND MARCH IS OVER IN TEN DAYS?! -- 22 MAR 2026

This first quarter of the year has flown by far too quickly, and I don't know if that's a good thing. I have so many projects being juggled at the moment. Nothing's totally fallen apart yet, but I'm constantly afraid I'll let others down. I think that's mostly the imposter syndrome though.

Touching up on the driving thing I mentioned last time... I'm not a good driver. LOL. I don't expect to be, since I'm so new and all, but man is my parking bad. I've scratched up the front of my car a couple times from parking blunders. I still don't understand how big the front of the car is...but it has to get better. Right?

Recently, I visited my partner in her home country. It was very nice to see her family again, and to meet all of her friends. Right now, I believe that this is ultimately where I want to be, so I really tried to soak in the city and get a feel for what life might be like here. I had an extraordinarily wonderful time with my partner. Dressing up nice and going on dates with her is something I'm never going to have enough of. Which is insane because I otherwise don't really care about dressing up and leaving the house makes me anxious.

...I also started doing karate again! As of last Tuesday, I've been training in uechi-ryu...which is extremely different from shotokan (what I trained in before). I don't know how to feel about it yet. It's fun, but it's very different from what I knew before. I did feel that old spark (I SWEAR IT'S NOT JUST ENDORPHINS) from when I used to train, so I hope that I can continue to cultivate that feeling!

The tasks...

So let's list my obligations and projects:

Aside from the zine, it's all the same stuff. I have no doubt that I can keep up with it, as long as I remain disciplined and I keep the momentum going. But I will not lie! It is a lot for sure!

I've just put my pitches out for Yuri Zine a couple days ago, so I'm hoping to hear back soon so that I can get a headstart before OGAM's April project kicks off.

As for Bolt from the Blue, I've been wrapping up the current draft of the story. My partner has been reading it as I go along and poking at it. She's really putting it through the wringer, but that means I'll come out with a way stronger story than someone who's holding back from saying what I need to hear! I've been chipping away at this document/draft/iteration/etc. of the story for almost a year now, and it's been a very positive journey for me.

What's fun?

I've been playing a lot of the Bravely Default HD remaster. It's the same bullshit I did with the original though—lots and lots of pointless grinding. What can I say? I love making numbers go up.

I've more or less dropped Pokemon Legends Z-A. I'm not particularly interested in the story, and all I want to do is grab a specific shiny (male Litwick) and be done. Unfortunately this shiny has been a pain in my ass, as I was able to secure a female shiny Litwick in a few hours, but haven't been able to pull another shiny since then.

After I finish Bravely and get bored of PLZA shiny hunting, I want to crack open the Nier games that I bought during a Steam sale in, like, November. One of my coworkers keeps harassing me about it lol. I'm so bad at going through my backlog, but—in my defense—I have so much other work that eats up my time.
