Raiden is one of the playable characters in Bolt from the Blue, and is the main perspective character for the player. She travels alongside Araceli, Saffron and Cole in search of not only the key to unlocking Araceli's prophecized power, but also her own past memories and truth of her existence.
Profile
Appearance
Raiden is a young woman with notably round features. Her hair is short and black, and it has a slightly warm glow under natural light. Though it appears spiky, it's better described as soft and messy/tousled. Her eyes are a bright gold with some orange hues near the edges. Raiden is toned, and her abdomen is lightly defined.
By default, she wears a shadow’s uniform—or at least some element of it. In addition to her personalized uniform, she is almost always seen with a blue scarf around her neck. Pinned to it is a blue stone, symbolic of her tie to the Cielisona princess. Additionally, she has a pair of dark rope-like wristbands that are incapable of being removed.
Spotted on her wrists, shoulders, waist, ankles and back are dark diamond-shaped markings. Depending on the lighting, they can appear black or bluish-gray. These markings approximately line up with the points at which magical energy is emitted when Raiden activates the special ability "Link State."
Raiden always seems to be smiling pleasantly. Though clearly trained to be proper, her posture and movements tend to be quite relaxed.
Personality
Raiden is a pretty simple person, all things considered. She doesn’t have memories of her past, and she’s not particularly troubled or driven by this. In fact, it would seem that all she cares about is taking care of Araceli.
Raiden rarely speaks outside of necessity or request. Though they are far and few between, the moments when Raiden actually does speak carry a lot of weight. Her voice is soft and low—somewhat boyish—and she generally speaks through a smile. Instead of talking, she carefully watches and listens, keeping her feelings close to her heart. Her emotions and identity remain repressed, but slowly she is unraveling her sense of self. Unintentionally, she draws people in with her quiet warmth, but she often doesn’t know what to do with that attention.
Despite her quiet and reserved nature, she’s not necessarily stoic. She’s actually rather affectionate and soft-hearted. Raiden is good at noticing shifts in mood and remembering details about other people. She’s optimistic, endlessly patient, and always tries to act with the best intentions at heart. It’s difficult for her to be vulnerable with others, but some tenderness can emerge with time and safety. Most of her affections are for the princess, but it’s clear that she is willing to extend that kindness to others as well.
Abilities
In battle, Raiden is an all-around supportive unit. Her skillset revolves around healing and supporting other party members, with skills that directly complement Araceli, Saffron and Cole. She has a thunder aspect.
Link State
Raiden is able to capture a piece of another allies' abilities and utilize it in battle. These pieces are called "Links," and calling upon them will activate "Link State."
Capturing a piece of another person's aspect doesn't necessarily require Raiden to befriend or earn their trust, but she prefers it that way. In the game, Links are unlocked through completing "Link Quests" with individual characters.
In addition to changing her appearance, activating Link State also swaps out Raiden's STRIKE skill and some of her CAST skills. These changes are unique to each Link.
History
Prior to Story
A little over six years before the attack on the Kingdom of Cieliso, Raiden washed up on the shores of the neighboring land of Buragee. Unbeknownst to everyone including herself, she had just come back to life after being long dead, resurrected by the power of a waking calamity. Lady Clarisse Infiaco foretold Raiden’s arrival as a potential spark to helping alleviate Princess Araceli’s curse. So, with no recollection of her identity or life outside of her own name, Raiden was graciously offered refuge with the Cielisono Royal Family. There, she resided in San Ven and served as the heiress' primary knight-attendant—her “shadow.”

Nothing here yet! Sorry!Relationships
Araceli Almador de Luna
Having served as the Cielisona Princess' shadow for a decade and counting, Raiden has an exceptionally close bond with Araceli. Both similar in age, their relationship was more of a playful childhood friendship than a professional assignment. That being said, Raiden takes her position very seriously and ensures that all of Araceli's needs are met.
Raiden is surprisingly honest when discussing her feelings on Araceli. She is fond of the princess, even openly admitting to having some trace romantic feelings for her. However, she's quick to dismiss them because she assumes it's "inappropriate" or "unprofessional" of her to act on such feelings. That being said, it's confirmed that her and Araceli have interacted as if they were in a romantic relationship (e.g. dates, kissing). Raiden justifies this as "part of her duties," as she only allows herself to participate in such activities on Araceli's request.
Saffron Infiaco
Raiden met Saffron through Araceli. Their families were well-acquainted, so it wasn't uncommon for Saffron to stop by the castle and vice versa. I'll add more info here later...
